White, Turquoise, and Brown leather
My obsessions for the summer: Turquoise jewelry, brown leather, and white details. Turquoise adds the perfect pop of color to any outfit, whether it be wrapped in gold, silver or by itself. Above, is my all time favorite necklace. This piece is spectacular because it doubles as Mala beads and a beautiful bracelet as well as a necklace. This necklace is from Anthropologie, and currently, they are carrying a ton of gorgeous turquoise jewels.
But the brown leather, it is the key to my summer wardrobe. These particular pieces have become so essential in my closet. It seems as though they go with almost every outfit planned out, and are so practical for my life. The purse, was a steal from Forever 21. I have received so many compliments on this tote, and many ask what designer it is! It has held up pretty well so far, and I am absolutely in love with it. Knowing I didn’t pay an arm and a leg to have the designed look makes me love it even more. I am a huge supporter of mixing high end with a bargain. I am a college student, and shop on a budget, but that is no reason not to look fabulous.
The sandals are from Urban Outfitters, and they are my most favorite sandals I own. They are super comfortable, which is a bonus for me because when I work, I stand for several hours at a time. Plus, they are a neutral color, so I am able to pair them with almost anything I want. These two are the dynamic duo for me, and really complete many of my summer outfits, and will transition well into other seasons. They are staple pieces, in my opinion.
A classic brown leather bag, a pair of functional brown leather sandals, and some turquoise jewelry to jazz outfits up? Must have pieces for any woman’s closet, and essential components for this summer’s wardrobe.
Jason and I love singing together and making music, and we finally recorded something to share with everyone. We have learned a few songs to cover, and would love to perform them at local bars and restaurants once he and I settle in out new place here in Tampa. This is the first of many videos to come. Check it out!
Jackson- Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash
“There were bells, on a hill
But I never heard them ringing,
No I never heard them at all,
Till there was you.”
Falling in love with him is a dream. He is so incredibly caring, and the most perfect man to share my time with. I am the luckiest woman alive to have found someone who cares for me as much as he does. It is a truly magical feeling to find someone who you love, and who loves you in return. He is my best friend and my lover, and it still amazes me that I can continue to fall more and more in love with him as time passes.
A few weeks ago, Jason made a promise to me, and gave me a ring to signify a permanent place in his heart. This promise meant the world to me. It was something he had promised to me many times before, but this meant something different. “I promise to love you forever,” beautifully strong words, and paired with a symbol of love. It was perfect, and the ring was gorgeous. Unfortunately that ring ended up having many issues with the setting of the stones and the size. My finger was bare for a couple of weeks, and this week I was surprised with the replacement.
He reminded me of the promise that he had made, and slipped a beautiful gold ring onto my finger. It was breathtakingly beautiful. This vintage ring was special too, because it held another meaning.
Around the diamond, the gold ring is shaped like a flower, a lotus flower to be exact. A lotus flower signifies enlightenment. The flower grows through the mud, and water to be a beautiful flower above. I think this meaning translates into any relationship. A relationship isn’t just about being the pretty flower on top, but growing. Growing through the dirt and mud, and still coming out so beautiful. Jason has helped me realize that I am worth the kind of love that he gives me. He believes in my dreams, and wants to be a part of them. He pushes me to grow as a person, and makes me feel so beautiful. Through the mud and water, and anything else the universe has to throw our way, we will grow through, and come out with understanding, grace, and beauty.
These beautiful pictures of us were taken when we first started dating by our friend Kaity Ayers, and her fiance Alex. Check out her photography, it is stunning. http://www.kaityayres.com/
A trip to the botanical gardens:
I’ve been living in Tampa for about three years now, and it has come to my attention that I have so much more to explore. Although it isn’t the largest city, there is still tons of things that I have yet to do. One of the things on the list was to explore USF’s Botanical Gardens.
I finally had a coordinating day off to spend with my best friend Becca, so we headed that way. It was a beautiful garden, complete with meditation, healing, veggie, and butterfly gardens. It was a bit smaller than I expected, but it was still beautiful. It felt so nice to spend a summer day outside.
For the outing, I took an Anthropologie skirt and turned it into a dress. Multifunctional! Its lightweight, and makes for good air flow. Strapless dresses are great for summer, and not having something around myneck or shoulders was nice for the Florida heat.
My everyday Free People sunglasses kept the sun out of my eyes, and my go-to Urban Outfitters sandals (another post soon to come about how much I love these babies), topped off the casual look. To accessorize, I strapped my fringe cross body purse around, and put on some of my favorite jewelry. My favorite pieces being the turquoise and gold dangle earrings (Ann Taylor Loft) from a few seasons ago, and my quartz crystal necklace. (My best friend gives the best presents!) It was a fun day playing in the sun and with the butterflies. It was worth the trip to North Tampa to see the beauty, and I definitely enjoyed the day off exploring with my best friend.
