All About that Solar Plexus Chakra

When one of your chakras are blocked, it can cause you both mental and physical pain. That is bad news bears for your life and for your health.  Lately I have been feeling a major blockage in my solar plexus chakra.

Here’s how I know: 

– I have been feeling really low about my self image

– I have been feeling really competitive and have been comparing myself to others far too often.

– I have been having a whole lot of digestive problems. (Along with attempting to balance my chakra, I am also seeing a gastroenterologist for this)

– In general, I tend to focus on the future. I am all about planning. The problem with that, is that I get upset if plans get altered or changed, even the tiniest bit.

Ever feel any of these things? It’s possible that you have had a blockage in your Solar Plexus Chakra too. 

Today I am sharing a few ways to help your body get rid of blockages in your Solar Plexus:

#1. Meditation all the way. 

In order to heal, you have to let your mind come to terms with itself. There is not one BEST way to meditate…It depends on what works for you.  If I don’t have time to do a guided meditation, I use my mala beads and practice a mantra.  This brings me to my next point…

#2. Practice positive talk. 

Call it a mantra, call it the little voice inside your head, and affirmation, whatever floats your boat. The point is, be nice to yourself. Repeat positive things to yourself, even if you don’t believe them at first. Some good mantras for your Solar Plexus Chakra are: I am confident;  I am self-assured; I trust my personal power; I am a great leader; I have a balanced relationships; I respect myself; I am capable enough to reach my goals.

#3. Surround yourself with yellow. 

Get yourself some pretty citrine, or yellow jasper crystals and keep them around you. Wear a yellow dress, or put some yellow flowers near your bedside. The third chakra is associated with the color yellow and can be stimulated by surrounding yourself with its vibration.

#4. Eat.

Chickpeas, turmeric, lemons, ginger, oats, rice, rye, corn, pineapple, chamomile, lentils, and farro are all foods that are great for stimulating the Solar Plexus Chakra. I am a big fan of lemons, and using lemon juice in my drinks and cooking. Lemons are very helpful to the Solar Plexus Chakra, and this makes sense. Lemons help detox your tummy, which is where your third chakra is located.

#5.  Soak in the sun!

The Solar Plexus Chakra is associated with the sun and fire, so go for a walk, and soak in the sun. (Bonus points if you practice yoga under the sun. Here are 5 Yoga Poses to stimulate your Solar Plexus Chakra)
