Engagement:

Jason and I took a vacation to New York City in December of 2016. Our good friend just moved to the city, and she is a phenomenal photographer. She asked us to do a shoot while we were in the city, and I thought nothing of it. We have done multiple shoots with her in the past, and they’re always so much fun. Jason and I had a couple of romantic and beautiful days in New York, and on Wednesday we met up with our friend, Catherine to take the photos.

We started underneath the Brooklyn Bridge, and took some photos throughout the park.

I noticed that Jason was shaking. It was freezing cold, so I thought that maybe he was just extra cold that day. He assured me that he was fine, and we kept going through the photoshoot.

We climbed our way up to the Brooklyn bridge, and found a spot to pause and take photos. The view was incredible. Walking the Brooklyn Bridge has always been on  my bucket list. What a great way to do it!

We kept walking up, trying to find a clearing in the crowd before the sun set. Once we scoped out the perfect spot, Catherine directed us on what poses we should take. “Okay, get close, and now get nose to nose…. and now Jason get down on one knee….”

I looked at Jason like “Yeah right, okay…”  (Jason and I had always teased each other and toyed around with the idea of getting engaged, and Catherine always asked us when it would happen, so I thought she was joking!)

Then Jason actually got down on one knee!!! I said, “Seriously?! Right here?!” I started to tear up.

Jason thanked me for always taking care of him, and told me that he loved me so much, and that I truly make him the happiest man in the world. Then he asked, “Do you know what would make me even happier?”

Then he put the ring on my finger and asked me the big question.

And of course I SAID YES!!!!!!

The ring was beautiful, and I immediately recognized my grandmother’s diamond from her wedding ring placed in the setting. This makes the ring so much more special to me, because I can have a piece of her with me all the time.

Not only that, but I later found out that my good friend Nicole’s father (the owner of Greco Jewelers)  actually designed and re-set the ring himself. Lenny did such a beautiful job, and really treated our diamond with care and appreciation.

I really encourage anyone who is looking into investing in jewelry to shop local, it makes such a huge impact on our small economies.

It wasn’t just a diamond ring, it meant so much more.

Thank you to everyone who made this beautiful proposal possible.
