New Year’s Resolutions

This year, I have found that writing out my New Year’s Resolutions has been surprisingly difficult. I think it has been particularly difficult because I have been trying to come up with things that I want to happen this year, rather than focusing on things to do to better my character.

So, here’s to improving character.

This year I really want to focus on bettering myself inside and out to make my life more balanced, and my relationships full of compassion and love. This could take a whole lot of steps to actually achieve, but I think it is the most important resolution I can make.

The plan:

Firstly, I think getting my physical body into shape will help my emotional and mental self. No, I don’t mean join a gym for a couple of months and work out to loose weight. No. I really would like to continue growing with my healthy lifestyle. I’m happy to say that I haven’t eaten any meat other than some fish here and there in about five months. I feel really good about it, and plan to continue this kind of lifestyle. I also would like to keep my fast food intake at a minimum, and have a diet that consists of food that grows from the ground rather than something that is processed.

Also, about a month ago I tore my meniscus in my knee. It doesn’t feel too great, and has definitely slowed me down. I have been working with my physical therapist to get myself back into shape. After I am done, and relatively back to normal, I would really like to get back into my yoga practice. It is great for my body, and for my spirit.

Secondly, I would like to get myself back in balance. I have used Chakra Balancing before to get myself in a place where I feel great, but I feel like I haven’t been as proactive with balancing as I could be. When all of your energies are working together, it can make for a much more harmonious life.

I am going to take a chakra to focus on every month until I get through the major seven. Giving myself a month (maybe more if needed) gives me the time to really focus, and develop strategies to use to improve that particular energy center. I will be writing blog posts about my journey through this, and what I am doing to stimulate the chakra of the month (food recipes, mediation guides, color therapy, crystal grids, ect.)

Lastly, I would like to accept and grow. This year will be full of changes for my life, I can feel it. It’s going to be important for me to keep my calm while everything is changing. I need to gain understanding and really see the whole picture, versus the minor details. I need to accept my situation, and what the universe is handing me, and grow from it. I think this idea will be so important within the next year of life, and throughout the years to come.

More to come,

xoxo
